Office Mischiefs

So I've managed to get myself meaningfully employed for the remaining 2 months of my vacation, thanks to my incredible power of networking! The unfortunate thing is that I could have actually started this job waaaay earlier, if only I hadn't went back to JB on the fateful day the HR person decided to contact me to schedule for an interview. Like seriously man, why the fuck am I always that suay? This is not the first time I missed a job opportunity thanks to a missed call. URGH.
I introduced this job to another friend of mine (so I wouldn't be working alone), and in the end, he got hired earlier than me instead. Which means he has earned ALOT, since this job pays relatively well.
Also, to make matters infinitely worse, I didn't win the $5.5million TOTO.
I just don't have the 财气. Very very sad :(
Perspective Man never gets old.

Work is pretty alright so far. I'm not supposed to divulge anything regarding what I'm working as, cos it's all supposed to be pretty top secret, and I'm lazy to type it all here anyway. Well, today's my second day into the job, and I'm finding office life here really quite amusing.
There are so many interns and student-on-holiday temp staffs here, which is baffling to me, because it seems like the department isn't even understaffed in the first place. In fact, I think they are seriously overstaffed, judging from my observations of how the interns basically do absolutely nothing but play Ninja Wars on Facebook, and constantly raiding the pantry of chocolate-wafer biscuits (one whole tin in HALF A DAY) and Milo powder. Like seriously, I don't even really like the chocolate wafer biscuits that much, but seeing everyone grab for them made me want to eat too, which I did of course. And someone even had the free time to scoop store-bought vanilla ice cream for everyone, and then generously POUR Milo powder from the pantry over each scoop of ice cream as topping. The resulting Milo Vanilla Ice Cream, needless to say, was a genius idea and a delight to my blessed tastebuds.
I didn't have anything to do in the office on my first day, since my supervisors weren't around to assign me any tasks to do. So my job was to act like I have a job to do. And thus, the whole first day was spent (together with the other interns and temp staffs) Facebooking and MSN-ing, with 2 fingers strategically placed on the Alt + Tab keys, in case any of the bosses decide to spring a surprise walk-past. Well, that's my tactic anyway. Some people scale their Ninja Wars window to a microscopic size to escape any unwarranted attention. All these are kind of thrilling.
The temp staffs and interns here are all nice and friendly. They've worked here much longer than I do, and are already happily accustomed to the slackness around. Oh, and it's very amusing to me how they bitch, or rather, gossip behind other colleagues' backs over lunch breaks at nearby kopitiams. Who would know they have so much juicy office affairs to share when all they seem to do is Facebooking? Okay actually, the perm staffs here are also of the same nature, always laughing at other colleagues behind their backs. Tsk tsk. The whole environment isn't actually much different from high school, come to think of it.
Okay, sorry for the buzzkill, but I suddenly don't feel like typing anymore. I've been facing the computer for the whole of the past 2 days, and frankly it's getting abit sickening. To think I have to face the same computer screen for the next 2 months. Shall blog more in the near future! Most probably when I'm skiving at work. HAHAHA ROFLCOPTER LOLLERBLADE :D
