Heart of Greed

After hearing so much praise about this show from several sources, I thought I had to check it out and hence I bought the series' DVD. Besides, there's not much TV shows from the US for me to catch at the moment anyway. And also, I'm unemployed, which means I'm very free and unproductive. I need to find something to occupy my time.
(Ya, I know I very slow. This show is so 2007. But I don't have cable TV, and neither do I follow HK drama serials!)
Okay, so what I heard from people, is that this show's mainly about an internal family feud (fighting for the family's inheritance), and thus, there's plenty of scheming and plotting against one another. WAH, I'm totally interested in that! All the evil-plotting reminds me of Dae Jang-geum, which I also love! (When the good vs evil plot arc was over in DJ-g, I lost a considerable amount of interest in the show after that.)
Crap, I sound like I'm from the middle-aged housewife demographic -- Watching and liking shows like Dae Jang-geum and Hong Kong drama serials o.o
Er, back to topic. I'm currently at episode 18 or something (after 3 days!), and the plot hasn't really thicken yet. But I'm already quite irritated at the several sub-plots and extra characters that do not really tie well to the main plot! HELLO? I WAS PROMISED THAT THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF SCHEMING. SO I ONLY WANT TO SEE SCHEMING SCHEMING SCHEMING! DON'T TRY AND DISTRACT ME WITH LOVEY-DOVEY ROMANCE PLEASE!
But then again, so far, I'm also quite satisfied at the very-drama family bickering scenes! It's super shiok watching veteran HK actors act! Whenever there are such scenes, I get an intense feeling of satisfaction, cos I feel that my money spent on the DVD is well-worth. Hahaha! Bring on the drama man! More quarelling!!!
Well, anyway, I browsed through its article on wikipedia, and seems that its sequel is much more critically acclaimed and popular! WOOH! So gonna get it once I'm done with the remaining 20+ episodes!
Love love love scheming and evil plotting! MUAHAHAHA! :D
(By the way, the family in the show owns an abalone-dealing business. In its indirect sequel, they sell mooncakes. WAHLAU, I also love shows that are food-related!)
